Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am located in East Memphis near Poplar and Perkins Extd. I prefer to work in person with clients, but am flexible with meeting virtually, if needed.

  • TCYM Sessions often include a blend of conversation, body awareness, and gentle nervous system support. Depending on what feels most supportive, we might explore thoughts and patterns, slow down to notice sensations in the body, or incorporate grounding or breath-based practices. No two sessions look exactly the same.

For more “traditional” therapy, the session will be shaped around the current needs of the client. I use evidence-based interventions that I have received extensive training in to best help people. Examples could be EMDR, inner child work, or parts work.

  • A good fit often has less to do with having the “right” problem and more to do with feeling a sense of safety, resonance, and ease in the relationship. If you’re curious but unsure, that in itself is often enough reason to begin a conversation and see how it feels.

  • I primarily work with women and female-identifying individuals navigating anxiety, relationship wounds, attachment trauma, self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, and feeling disconnected from self. Many of the people I work with are longing to feel more grounded, emotionally safe, and connected to their bodies and inner voice. Many also have tried traditional talk therapy and feel like they need more support moving their progress along.
My work often integrates trauma-informed therapy, somatic approaches, EMDR, IFS-informed care, and mindfulness-based practices.

  • Not at all. My somatic offerings are not traditional yoga classes and are designed to be accessible to all bodies and levels of experience. The focus is not on posture, performance, or flexibility, but on cultivating a more connected and supportive relationship with your nervous system and inner experience. Everything is invitational, and we move at a pace that feels safe and sustainable for you.

Within this approach, yoga is understood in its broader, original sense as a practice of connection between mind and body. This might look like gently noticing where you feel your breath, bringing awareness to areas of the body that feel tense or emotionally charged, or allowing space for any natural movement or release that arises. The emphasis is on curiosity and attunement rather than doing things “correctly,” supporting a deeper sense of presence within yourself.

  • This is a very common concern, and it’s something we can work with gently. You are always in control of the pace of our sessions, and we can slow down, pause, or shift focus at any time. Part of this work is learning how to notice and respond to your nervous system with care rather than pressure.

We always move at a pace that feels safe for you.
