About me…

I’m Jessica Ganey, formerly Seebeckβ€”a therapist, school counselor, yoga teacher, and group facilitator devoted to helping others feel less alone and a little bit more loved in this lifetime. With roots in traditional mental health care and training in yoga, mindfulness, and nervous system healing, my approach is integrative, relational, and trauma-informed.

For over a decade, I’ve worked in community mental health, residential eating disorder care, high schools, and nonprofits. I opened my private practice in July 2019, starting out working with only a few clients after school, leaving my work as a hybrid educator-counselor at St. Mary’s Episcopal School. I continue to offer individual therapy to female-identifying individuals in my private practice. This work continues to shape my understanding of relational trauma, attachment wounds, and what it means to feel safe in your own body.

Now, my practice has come quite full circle, resembling the start of it since I accepted a position as a School Counselor at an elementary school. I now see clients one day a week and on weekends/evenings, if needed. My love for the field of mental health takes many forms, and I feel grateful to be able to work in these different settings and different age groups.

In addition to clinical work, I’ve had the privilege of teaching wellness and resilience in educational spaces. At an all-girls high school, I designed and led a yearlong ninth-grade Mind-Body Wellness class, integrating somatic tools, emotional literacy, and self-reflection into the classroom. I also facilitate workshops using the One Love Curriculum, focused on healthy vs. unhealthy relationships, and continue to develop tailored programs on topics like stress management, test anxiety, and emotional regulation.

My path as a yoga teacher has evolved alongside my clinical work. What began as β€œYoga for Emotional Health” grew into trauma-informed offerings at Sundara Wellness, college-centered classes at the University of Memphis, and restorative practices for children in afterschool programs. Today, I teach Yoga Nidra at Delta Groove Yoga, welcoming community members of all backgrounds into this restful, healing space.

πŸ’› Guiding Beliefs

I believe healing is layered and embodied.
I believe we aren’t meant to do it alone.
I believe our bodies hold both our wounds and our wisdom.
And I believe that, with love and support, we can learn to companion ourselves again.

Yoga in the Community

With my dual licenses as an LCSW and 200HR RYT, I am able to bridge movement together in evidence-based, therapeutic ways and offer that to your journey of healing and resilience.

I was honored to lead a trauma-informed yoga class for nearly 100 individuals amidst tragic and traumatic events in September 2022. Read more about it here.
